A Testimony of God’s Grace, Preservation, and Calling
To the highest name of our Lord Jesus Christ, be all glory, honor, and praise.
My name is Pastor P. Vijay Rathnam, and I am deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to share our testimony of His grace, faithfulness, protection, and calling upon our lives.
From Sickness to a Life of Calling
From an early age, my life was marked by sickness and weakness. As a young child, I was frequently ill, and my parents took me to many hospitals and sought different treatments and medicines. Despite their efforts, however, my health did not improve.
During that difficult season, my parents made a decision that would profoundly shape the course of my life—they dedicated me to the service of God.
By the grace of God, I grew up hearing His Word and participating in ministry. At the age of sixteen, I personally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, was baptized, and committed my life to serving Him.
Marriage and Family
According to God's plan and purpose, I married Asha Rani in 2012. God blessed our marriage with two precious children, Benny and Shiny.
As we continued our family life and served the Lord together, God placed a growing burden in our hearts to reach people who were suffering, struggling, and in need.
In 2015, by God's grace and direction, I founded New Shine Welfare Society, a nonprofit organization committed to serving and helping people in need while demonstrating the love of Christ through practical service and Gospel ministry.
God Preserved My Life
In 2016, I was involved in a serious accident. Humanly speaking, there were moments when I did not know whether I would survive or whether I would ever be able to continue serving God.
But the Lord was faithful.
He protected me under the shadow of His wings, preserved my life, restored my health, and gave me another opportunity to live and serve Him.
Through that experience, I came to understand more deeply that God had preserved my life for a purpose.
God Preserved My Wife
Then, in 2025, my wife, Asha Rani, experienced a severe electric shock and was placed in a critical, life-threatening condition.
Once again, our family faced a moment when we did not know what the outcome would be.
But God intervened with His amazing grace and mercy.
The Lord miraculously preserved my wife's life and brought her through that critical situation.
These experiences have profoundly changed our understanding of God's calling upon our lives. We believe that God has preserved both my wife and me not simply for ourselves, but for His purposes—so that our lives may testify to His grace, faithfulness, mercy, and power.
We realized that when God preserves a life, He has a purpose for that life.
Rather than turning back, we became even more determined to continue serving the Lord with greater commitment, faith, and dependence upon Him.
A Life Dedicated to Serving Others
By the grace of God, my wife and I have dedicated our lives to serving others.
Through New Shine Welfare Society, we seek to help children, pastors, elderly people, and families facing difficult circumstances while sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ.
God has given us opportunities to encourage people, meet practical needs, share the Gospel, and testify to His goodness and faithfulness.
Our desire is that every person we encounter would know that Jesus Christ is able to save, restore, heal, strengthen, and give hope.
Our Testimony Is About What God Has Done
Our testimony is not about what we have accomplished. It is about what God has done.
He carried us through sickness.
He preserved my life after a serious accident.
He preserved my wife's life after a life-threatening electric shock.
And He has continued to give us opportunities to serve Him and others.
Every day that God gives us is a gift and another opportunity to fulfill His purpose.
We therefore desire to use the life He has preserved to bring glory to His name and to be a blessing to others.
Our Request
We sincerely ask you to remember us and New Shine Welfare Society in your prayers.
Your prayers, encouragement, partnership, and support are deeply valuable to us.
Please pray that God will continue to give us:
Wisdom to serve according to His will
Strength to continue the work He has entrusted to us
Provision for the needs of the ministry
Open doors to reach more people and communities
Grace and faithfulness to remain committed to our calling
Opportunities to serve children, pastors, elderly people, and families in need
Boldness to share the Gospel and the hope found in Jesus Christ
Above all, pray that our lives and ministry will continue to be a testimony of God's amazing grace and that many people will come to know Jesus Christ through our service.
We give all the glory to God for His faithfulness, protection, mercy, preservation, and calling upon our lives.
To God alone be all the glory, honor, and praise.
Amen.
In Christ,
Pastor P. Vijay Rathnam & Asha Rani
